Marve Beach

Marve Beach: Marve Beach is located in the Western Suburb of Malad in the city of Mumbai, India. It connects the Essel World (Amusement Park) and Madh Island to the city through the Ferry Service.

Madh Island

Madh Island: Madh Island is a neighbourhood in northern Mumbai. Contrary to its name it is not an island, but a peninsula. It might have been an island earlier. The area is bounded by the Arabian Sea to the west, and the Malad creek to the south. The area is a rural area inhabited by Kolis, East Indian Roman Catholics as well as by people from other communities too. Its proximity to the sea and secluded nature has resulted in hotels being set up here. Many of the city’s rich have bungalows here.

Versova Beach

Versova Beach: Versova is a beach-Village in Mumbai (Bombay) located in the suburb of Andheri. The beach faces the Arabian Sea. A large population of Mumbai’s fishing community, the Koli’s, resides and are the orgins of the Mumbai residing at one end of Versova beach.

Vesawe is the Original name of the Village, The Name comes from the term where Chatrapati Shivaji Raje would bring down his Navy to have the Rest after the war. The term Vesawe stands out to be “Rest” in Marathi Langange. Mumbai City has this Same Koli Village named Vesawe which is now termed as Versova, as Now Diverse Communities resides in here.

Girgaon Chaupaati

Girgaon Chaupaati: Chowpatti is a small public beach adjoining Marine Drive in South Mumbai, India. The beach is famous for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations when hundreds of people from all over Mumbai come to immerse the idols of Lord Ganapati in Arabian Sea.

Bandstand Promenade

Bandstand Promenade: It is Situates in Bandra (W). The Bandstand Promenade is a kilometer long walkway along the sea on the west side of Bandra, a suburb of Mumbai, India. Less than a decade old, it is simultaneously a popular hang out spot, a jogging track and a park.

The promenade starts from St.Andrew’s Church and ends at Lands End – which it literally is – a protrusion of land surrounded by the sea.

Gilbert Hill

Gilbert Hill: Gilbert Hill is a 200 foot (90 m) monolith column of black basalt rock in Andheri, Maharashtra, India. The rock has a sheer vertical face and was created when molten lava was squeezed out of the earth’s clefts during the Mesozoic Era about 65 million years ago. During that era, molten lava had spread around most of the Indian states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, covering an area of 50,000 km². The volcanic eruptions were also responsible for the destruction of plant and animal life during that era.

Fashion Street

Fashion Street: Fashion Street refers to a cluster of about 130 to 140 clothing shops on MG Road in South Mumbai, India. Readymade garments are one of Mumbai’s chief exports, so the same clothes sold at leading US and European retail stores can be purchased on Fashion Street for a fraction of their price abroad. Furthermore, many proprietors haggle. Besides clothing, there are also several shoe and jewelry shops.

University of Mumbai

University of Mumbai: The University of Mumbai (formerly University of Bombay) is a university situated in Maharashtra state of India. It has been given a five-star ranking by NAAC. The name of the University was changed from University of Bombay to University of Mumbai according to a Government Gazette dated 4 September 1996. It is abbreviated as either (UOM) for University of Mumbai or as (MU) for Mumbai University.

Most of the colleges in the city of Mumbai (Bombay) and the districts of Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg are affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The University of Mumbai offers Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral degrees to students. It has several high ranking research institutes in the world, including Institute of Chemical Technology (formerly UDCT), Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) a Deemed University of the University of Mumbai and the Tata Memorial Hospital.

Mandapeshwar Caves

Mandapeshwar Caves: The Mandapeshwar Caves are Hindu caves devoted to Shiva, located in the suburb of Borivali in northern Mumbai (Bombay), India. They were built approximately 1,500 years ago.

The caves have a rectangular opening interspersed with four pillars. The Portuguese converted the caves into a church, and ancient graves can be visible nearby. Inside the caves are carved pillars and a large hall. There is a carved Shiva as Nataraja on one of its walls

Mahakali Caves

Mahakali Caves: The Mahakali Caves (formerly Kondivita Caves) are Buddhist caves dating back almost two thousand years, located in the city of Mumbai (Bombay), India. It is carved out of a solid black basalt rock.

It is located between Andheri, Jogeshwari and Vikhroli, sandwiched between the Borivali National Park and Aarey Milk Colony. It is surrounded by encroachments and shanties and is declared endangered.
